Privacy policy

The Senior Signal is a free website and newsletter written by Keith Ables. This page explains, in plain English, what information we collect and what we do with it. The short version: we collect very little, and we never sell or share your email address.
If you sign up for the newsletter
- What we collect: your email address, and the date you signed up.
- What we use it for: sending you The Senior Signal, about every two weeks, plus a welcome email when you first sign up.
- Who runs it: our newsletter is sent through a company called beehiiv, which stores the list of subscribers for us. Like most newsletter services, beehiiv records whether an email was opened and which links were clicked. We use that only to see which topics are most helpful.
- Leaving: every issue has an "Unsubscribe" link at the bottom. Click it and you'll stop getting emails.
If you email us
If you write to info@theseniorsignal.com or reply to an issue, we keep your message so we can answer it. If we'd like to share your question in a future issue, we leave out your name and anything that could identify you.
When you visit this website
- No ads, and no tracking cookies of our own. We don't use advertising networks or follow you around the internet.
- Our web host, Cloudflare, keeps standard technical records of visits, such as the date and time and the address of your internet connection, to keep the site running and secure.
- The lettering on this site comes from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google to load it.
- The sign-up box is provided by beehiiv and loads from beehiiv's servers.
- Your choices stay on your device. If you pick a text size or filters in the discount finder, your own browser remembers them. That information isn't sent to us.
What we will never do
- Sell, rent, or trade your email address.
- Ask for your passwords, bank details, or Social Security number. If someone claiming to be from The Senior Signal asks for these, it's a scam.
Sponsors and links to other websites
Our guides link to other websites, such as government agencies and the companies that make your phone. Those sites have their own privacy policies. If we ever add sponsors or links that earn us a small fee, we'll label them clearly, and sponsors won't get your email address.
Children
This site is written for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
